In der Märzausgabe aus dem Jahre 1998 wurde nicht über Stephen King berichtet. Vielmehr schrieb er einen Leserbrief zu einem Artikel, indem es um das Aussehen eines Autors geht. U. a. meint er dort: »[…] H.P. Lovecraft had the perfect face for a writer of horror fiction – it was the pale and slighty stunned visage of a man who has seen something under the bed which changed his outlook forever.«
Und er endet beinahe rührselig: »But readers still like us, sometimes even love us, and why not? When we are writing at our best, the least of us is more beautiful than a movie star … and we stay that way as long as our books stay in print.«
